How to Spot a fake Louis Vuitton Multicolore Pochette Accessoires
Many people believe that purchasing pre-owned luxury items in Japan is safe due to their strict counterfeit laws. However, there are still some fake items sold in Japan, and identifying a counterfeit can be challenging.
I recently bought a white Multicolore Pochette Accessoires, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a replica. While I could recognize it as a fake upon receipt, it might be difficult for others to do so.
Today, I'm here to guide you on how to identify a counterfeit Multicolore Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires. With so many replicas being sold online constantly, it's hard to know if you're getting an authentic item or not.
Let's examine an authentic and a counterfeit side by side:
On the right is the authentic version, and on the left is the fake. We will compare the details and differences between them. The yellowish tone on the counterfeit isn't an authentication point, as real ones can also fade and turn yellow. However, when examining closely, the first significant difference is the leather trim.
The counterfeit's leather trim has a very light color and hasn't developed any patina over time. The reason is that it's not made from vachetta leather. Crafting a bag with vachetta requires more work and skill than regular leather, as it's a thick material and difficult to manipulate. The trim is one of the hardest parts to create, so counterfeit bags often use real vachetta for tabs, straps, and stamp parts, but not for the trim.

Now, let's inspect the canvas.
On the counterfeit, the colors are not printed accurately, and the flowers lack detail and precision.
Next, let's examine the hardware.
The authentic bag has finer print than the counterfeit, but the significant difference is the mechanism. The counterfeit often has a visible spring, while the original Louis Vuitton clip does not.
As for the stamp, the stitching on the counterfeit is irregular, tight, and not straight, and the nylon string is too thick. Additionally, the tab is wider than usual.
Looking at the bag's interior, the authentic Louis Vuitton MC Pochette Accessoires is lined with Alcantara fabric, a durable, suede-like microfiber. The material used on the counterfeit is thin and flimsy. The authentic bag has a more burgundy tone, is correctly applied to the canvas, and is not wrinkled.
The most significant difference inside is the brand stamping.
The counterfeit has a vachetta leather stamp that could deceive some novices. However, an authentic Multicolore Pochette never has a vachetta part with the brand name inside; it's engraved in the Alcantara fabric. The counterfeit doesn't even have a date code.
The date code should be engraved in the purse's corner, but with Alcantara, it often happens that the date code and brand stamp fade away and might be almost impossible to read or locate. Keep in mind that if you can't find your code, it doesn't necessarily mean the bag is fake.
I hope this article has been helpful and encourages you to have your items authenticated. For authentication, I use "Liyah's Luxuries," an excellent authenticator with speedy service.
Don't let yourself be deceived into buying a fake LV bag when you can have the real deal.
